The Nelson Lakes and the surrounding rivers are renowned for excellent brown trout fishing. Either hire the services of our local fly fishing guides or use one of the many NZ Fish & Game access points to the many fishing spots along the lakes and rivers surrounding St Arnaud House (a fishing license is required to fish in New Zealand's lakes and rivers). |

| The Antique & Classic boat show is held on Lake Rotoiti ( weekend of the 6th & 7th March 2010), come and see all types of boats from NZs icon 1960s Hamilton Jet boats era to steam powered boats young and old. Of special interest this year was the entry of "No Catch em" an open clinker boat that won the 'Rotoiti Cup" boat race in 1927 | ||
