In keeping with our magnificent bush covered Mountains, St Arnaud House is a solid Eco-timber Fraemohs building, which blends into the stunning Nelson Lakes alpine environment
The native forest surrounding St Arnaud House is alive with the fabulous bird songs of New Zealand's native Tuis, Bellbirds, Kaka, and Robins - at night listen for the call of the Morepork and Weka.
Come warm your toes in front of the log-burner after a great day's hiking, fishing or skiing (The fishing season is in full swing here at the present time, those big browns are very canny).
Relax with a great espresso coffee, sit down to one of Margery's superb home cooked evening dinners.
Dinner includes a complimentary glass of wine. (evening dinners, and lunches are available by prior arrangement.)

St Arnaud / Lake Rotoiti, and the surrounding Nelson Lakes National Park
The Lake Rotoiti and the Nelson Lakes National Park area offers a very wide range of recreational activities, from leisurely strolls along the many well formed marked tracks beside and around the shore of Lake Rotoiti. Or to the more challenging tramps/hikes eg Parachute Rocks and ultimately on to the crest of the St Arnaud range or walk the Mt Robert Circuit, and along the many tracks and routes that explore the "Nelson Lakes National Parks" rugged wilderness.
St Arnaud House is a great base for other activities such as trout fishing, skiing Rainbow Ski Field, Mountain biking, special events days held on Lake Rotoiti, river rafting the mighty Buller, gliding with the Nelson Gliding club, and visiting Omaka Aviation Heritage Center, the Marlborough and Nelson wineries We are within one hour's scenic drive to both Nelson and Blenheim.
